The short version: PrayerList does not collect, store, transmit, or sell your personal data. Your prayers and journal entries never leave your device and your personal iCloud account. We have no servers. We can't see your data, and we don't want to.
Who We Are
PrayerList is developed and maintained by Nextsulting LLC, a digital services company. You can contact us at any time via our support page.
What Data PrayerList Stores
All of the following data is stored locally on your device and, if you have iCloud enabled, in your personal iCloud account (which Apple encrypts end-to-end). Nextsulting LLC has no access to this data.
- Prayers — Names, notes, categories, dates, and "prayed" history you create
- Journal entries — Text, inline drawings, linked prayers, and timestamps
- Contact photos — If you attach a contact to a prayer, the photo is stored locally
- Resource progress — Which devotional series you follow and your completion status
- App preferences — Settings like Face ID lock, notification times, and streak data
What Data We Collect
None. We do not collect, receive, or have access to any of your personal data. Specifically:
- We do not use any third-party tracking or advertising SDKs
- We do not collect device identifiers or IP addresses
- We do not use cookies
- We have no user accounts, no servers, and no databases
Waitlist Signup (Website Only)
If you join the PrayerList waitlist on our website, we collect your name and email address for the sole purpose of notifying you when the app launches. This information is stored on our web server and will not be shared with any third party. You can request removal at any time by contacting us via our support page.
iCloud Sync
PrayerList uses Apple's CloudKit framework to sync your data across your personal devices. This data is stored in your private iCloud account and is encrypted by Apple using end-to-end encryption. Nextsulting LLC cannot access, read, or modify your iCloud data. For more information about Apple's iCloud security practices, visit Apple's iCloud security overview.
Apple Health (HealthKit)
If you grant permission, PrayerList logs your prayer time as mindfulness minutes in Apple Health. This data is:
- Written only to Apple Health on your device
- Never transmitted to Nextsulting LLC or any third party
- Never used for advertising or data mining
- Fully controlled by you — revoke access anytime in Settings → Health → PrayerList
Contacts
If you choose to attach a contact to a prayer, PrayerList reads only the name and photo from your address book for display purposes. Contact data is stored locally and in your private iCloud. We do not upload, transmit, or process your contacts in any way.
Face ID / Touch ID
PrayerList offers optional biometric locking using Apple's LocalAuthentication framework. Biometric data (your face or fingerprint) is never accessed by PrayerList — authentication is handled entirely by iOS at the system level. We only receive a "yes" or "no" result.
Notifications
If you enable notifications, PrayerList schedules local reminders on your device for prayer times and devotional series. These are local notifications — they are not sent through any server and do not involve any data transmission.
Third-Party Services
PrayerList connects to two external services:
- bible-api.com — A free, open Bible API used for verse lookups. We send only the verse reference (e.g., "John 3:16") — no personal data.
- WordPress REST API — Used to load devotional content in the Resources tab. No personal data is transmitted.
Children's Privacy
PrayerList does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. The app does not require any personal information to function.
Data Deletion
Since all app data is stored on your device and in your personal iCloud:
- Delete app data: Delete the PrayerList app from your device
- Delete iCloud data: Go to Settings → [Your Name] → iCloud → Manage Storage → PrayerList → Delete Data
- Delete waitlist data: Email us via the support page and we will remove your information
Changes to This Policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
