Frequently Asked Questions
Is PrayerList really free?
▼
Yes, 100% free with no in-app purchases, no subscriptions, and no ads. We built PrayerList as a ministry tool to help people grow in their prayer lives.
Do my prayers sync between devices?
▼
Yes! PrayerList uses Apple's iCloud to sync your prayers, journal entries, and progress across all your devices. Make sure you're signed into the same Apple ID and have iCloud enabled for PrayerList in your device settings.
My prayers aren't syncing. What should I try?
▼
First, check that iCloud is enabled: Settings → [Your Name] → iCloud → make sure PrayerList is toggled on. Then ensure both devices are connected to the internet. iCloud sync can sometimes take a few minutes. If issues persist, try closing and reopening the app, or contact us using the form on this page.
Can anyone else see my prayers?
▼
No. Your data is stored on your device and in your private iCloud account, which Apple encrypts end-to-end. We have no servers and no ability to access your data. You can also enable Face ID or Touch ID to lock the app. Read our full
privacy policy for details.
How do I delete all my data?
▼
To delete app data from your device, simply delete the PrayerList app. To remove iCloud data, go to Settings → [Your Name] → iCloud → Manage Storage → PrayerList → Delete Data. If you signed up for the waitlist and want your email removed, send us a message using the form on this page.
Does prayer time count as mindfulness?
▼
Yes! If you grant PrayerList permission to write to Apple Health, your prayer and journaling time is automatically logged as mindfulness minutes. This appears alongside meditation and breathwork sessions in the Health app.
What devices does PrayerList support?
▼
PrayerList runs on iPhone, iPad, Mac (via Mac Catalyst), and Apple Watch. Interactive widgets are available for iPhone and iPad home screens. Apple Watch includes a companion app with complications for your watch face.
Can I use Apple Pencil in the journal?
▼
Absolutely! The Prayer Journal features a full block editor with PencilKit support. You can draw, sketch, and write inline alongside typed text — just like Apple Notes. Scribble handwriting-to-text works too.
